Wellington College offers a wide range of activities for students in the arts area, as they undoubtedly contribute to the ethos of the College.

Selection or involvement in extra-curricular activities at any level requires all students to maintain a high work ethic and standard of behaviour in the classroom. Failure to do so could result in extra curricular opportunities being restricted and we would like to see this avoided at all costs.

2010 is set to be an exciting year for Drama at Wellington College; with the Sheilah Winn Drama Festival, the musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar', Senior Drama & the ever popular Junior Drama.

There are seven extracurricular groups offered in the Music Programme for 2010. Students will pay a $15 sub for Music – please note that this is not per activity, it is for extracurricular Music involvement. Students may be involved in as many musical groups as their time commitments will allow, however, regular attendance at all rehearsals is essential.

Debating teams are entered at all levels in the Wellington Regional Interschool Competition. A number of teams always reach the semi-finals and finals. In addition, there is an in-house competition for Years 9-13 including an Impromptu Competition. During the year there are also the traditional interschool debates associated with the interschool sporting fixtures, the Russell McVeagh Regional Competition and the Regional Impromptu Debating Competition. Previous experience is not required for in-house Debating and all interested students are placed in teams.
